PYP Arts Curriculum and Art Club

Elizabeth Borschman
Arts Coordinator and Arts PYP teacher P-5

Term 1 PYP Arts program has launched with an enriching, challenging, fun Term 1 program. The Arts program will develop student’s fundamental understanding of how to critically and creatively apply formal art elements and principles in a range of design process development, in order to produce polished final outcome work.

The Creative Arts Department is pleased to launch the Art Club this year too. Art Club will be run 6 times a term. Each session will be on a Wednesday for P-5 students at lunch time, in the Art Room Building D, Room D1. Students will need to sign up before coming to each session. The sign-up form will be on the Art Room notice board, located in the art room for students to fill 1-2 weeks prior to each art club session. There will be a limit of 25 students per session due to the size of the room and having one teacher to supervise. The Art club will involve drawing, painting, 3D modeling and textile-based activities. Students are expected to help pack-up after their session and leave 10 minutes before the end of lunch bell. The Art Club provides opportunities for students to socialize, be creative, share ideas, and develop fine-motor skills.

The Arts Department also likes to recycle! So, if you have any spare student and Islamic friendly newspapers and or magazines for us to collage and use for painting with, then we would love you to donate some of your old newspapers and or magazines to us.

Thank-you.
