The Year 5s began the year focusing on the relationship between the sun has with the moon and the planets of the solar system. They flourished with their narrative stories on space exploration.
They incorporated aspects of grammar learnt in the classroom and added characters to thicken the plot. Each student wrote with an intended audience in mind. They were able to read their story to another class. This raised their expectations and they were able to think about the audience's perspective. Furthermore, students had the opportunity to explore space using a digital platform. They were free to roam the planets of the solar system online gathering, and sharing information sparking curiosity.
We are looking forward to seeing our Year 5s continue to flourish through-out the term and implement their learner profiles to a high degree.
